Writings

Artistic Residency
Writings is an art residency project carried out with the Year 4 and Year 5 class at Laroquebrou Primary School (Cantal). From January to June 2026, through a series of workshops...a series of workshops, such as making refillable journals, translating sound and music into drawing, incising clay tablets, trying out estampage (a transfer technique), cryptography, calligraphy and a few of Oulipian stylistic exercises, writing is explored as both an artistic and literary practice, aiming to open up new means of personal expression.
This project was brought to life by a great many people... a great many people, starting with Mélanie Déprez and her students: Baptiste, Camille, Cindy, Enzo, Gabriel, Ilyas, Jules, Kylian, Liséa, Lily, Lou, Ludivine, Maëlle, Marie, Mila, Nadya, Noé, Raphaël, Tempérance and Timaël. Léa Guillout, artist and coordinator of the “modèle sonore” workshops, and musician Clément Variéras both played a key role in shaping and developing the project. To end on a colourful note, La soupe aux mots, ou les mots au pif (in English, Word Soup, or Words on a Whim) brought the workshops to a close and was carefully riso printed by Studio Magma (Paris 11). S’écrire was produced as part of the Création en cours residency programme, led by the Ateliers Médicis with the support of the Ministry of Culture and in partnership with the Ministry of National Education.
